CUT&ALTER

Abigail Sheridan de Graaff

AWARD WINNING LONGARM QUILTER

HANDI QUILTER EDUCATOR

PATCHWORK & QUILTING TUTOR

based in Hunscote, just outside Stratford upon Avon, Warwickshire, UK

Hi I am Abigail the face behind cut&alter.

I have been a longarm quilter since buying my first Handi Quilter machine in July 2015 and haven't looked back!  A month after it was delivered I had my first entry in a Quilt Show and was delighted to receive a Judge's Merit for that quilt, see that and other show entries below, and 6 months later I started quilting for customers.

In 2018 I was delighted to be appointed a Handi Quilter Educator for the UK and, to further my longarm knowledge and skills, I travelled to Salt Lake City in 2019 to attend Handi Quilter's Annual Academy.

It was after this trip that I upgraded my machine to an Amara with Pro-Stitcher which means I can offer more designs to my customers at a better price.  Whilst I love having the ability to use the computer my first love is still free motion quilting - both doing it myself and teaching it.

Whilst I do not like labels the following words do describe me pretty accurately:
a daughter, a wife, a mother, a former home educator, a quilter, a longarm quilter, a sewer, a dressmaker, a crocheter, a baker, a recycler, an upcycler, a maker, a mender, a reader, a puzzle solver and lots more besides .....

When not in my studio I share our home with my husband, a Kiwi, my two daughters, one Kiwi and one Brit,  a little black and white cat called Smiggle and a crazy working cocker spaniel called Nutmeg.

If you have any questions or comments please do get in touch - I would love to hear from you. x
