Product Review :: The Needle Store

Updated: Mar 10, 2021

The lovely ladies from Patterntrace launched a new product last week and I was lucky enough to be sent one to check it out. It is a Needle Store and I have now had chance to get all my needles organised thanks to this!

There are 8 compartments in the box so plenty of space for all your needles.

My first thing to check out was whether my longarm machine needles would fit into the compartments - they did! Longarm quilting machines takes different needles to your regular sewing machines - I never knew there was so much to know about needles until I started my longarm journey.

️There are Velcro dots in each compartment for you to store your needle whilst using another one - so simple but so genius! I change needles regularly and to have a dedicated place to put them will stop all the unnecessary anxiety of where exactly is it - anxiety because if my longarm machine hit one at speed bad things might happen!!

There are various stickers for you to label the compartments with and, being a sticker girl, I love this. I might use 3 different needle sizes on a quilt and so to know I am reaching for the right one means far less potential of thread breakages or unpicking which results in a much happier me!

And last but definitely not least, it looks far better than my current storage solution - a shoebox lid that must be over 10 years old because my girls feet haven’t been that size in many years!!

Edited to add: I was asked a question over on my Instagram post about whether it would hold the thin glass tubes that some hand sewing needles come in. I was able to find my Tulip needles, no mean feat because it's been a long time since I have used them, and it was great to see that they fit in too. It really is a very versatile Needle Store.
